Non-surgical solutions Bannon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine

Exploring non-surgical solutions first.
Dr. Bannon will never pressure you into surgery. In fact, he explores all nonsurgical solutions first, because surgery is not always the only option. But if surgery is needed, you can trust you’re in the hands of an experienced, qualified orthopaedic surgeon.

Advanced arthroscopic surgery for knees.
When you’ve torn ligaments or tendons in your knee, trust Dr. Bannon to provide an advanced solution that will help you get back to your everyday lifestyle. Through this procedure, your condition can be remedied in less time and with less discomfort than traditional surgery. It’s done on an outpatient basis, and only small incisions and a short-acting anaesthetic are needed.

Using DXA scans to accurately detect osteoporosis.
Dr. Bannon uses an enhanced form of X-ray technology called dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). DXA bone densitometry is today’s established standard for measuring bone mineral density. DXA is a quick, painless procedure for measuring bone loss. If your bone density is found to be low, Dr. Bannon will work with you to develop a treatment plan to increase your bone density to help prevent future fractures.

Arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis and a good diagnosis.
If you are over 40, there’s a good chance you already have some degree of pain or stiffness in your body. It could be from arthritis, tendonitis or bursitis. Dr. Bannon can give you the correct diagnosis, help reduce your pain or stiffness, then help strengthen your muscles and joints to get you moving again — at home, at work and anywhere else you want to be.
