 “ I come from a family of doctors. My father was the first anesthesiologist in Glens Falls. I also have two uncles in medicine: one had one of the largest general practices in town, and the other was an ENT in Stanford, Connecticut.—a pioneer in endoscopy. Several of my cousins are doctors, as well, so it’s no wonder I chose healthcare as a profession. I’ve been practicing in upstate New York for the past 24 years, with the same staff for about 18 years. My surgical assistant, David J. Paska, RPA-C has been with me for close to 10 years. “I began practicing in Upstate New York 18 years ago staring my career as a Physician Assistant in 1988. I completed my post graduate medical education from Albany Medical Center in 1999 and continued to develop my interest in Sports Medicine by completing a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy from the Hospital for Joint Diseases – NYC Medical Center in 2000. During my Medical Education I participated in numerous medical research and teaching presentations. I became a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in July 2002 and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2004.”

I have currently teamed with Dr. J. David Bannon in Queensbury New York. At Bannon & Gundel Orthopaedics, I am renewing my commitment to the community for excellence in Sports Medicine as well as general Orthopaedics. Three Physician Assistants complete our team; David J. Paska, RPA-C Mark S. Wright, RPA-C and Jason L. Cossey, RPA-C. We work well together and compliment each other in order to provide you with the best Orthopaedic care possible. I continually stride to update myself with current concept s in Orthopaedic Surgery by consistently attending annual continuing medical education courses as well as personal participation as a panelist for the Arthritis Foundation.
